Welcome to the Blue Water Task Force!

The Blue Water Task Force is a locally-led non-profit watershed group headquartered along the famous Gallatin River in Big Sky, Montana. Located halfway between Bozeman, one of southwest Montana's largest cities, and West Yellowstone, gateway to Yellowstone National Park, Big Sky is both a vacation destination and a rapidly growing independent community. The Blue Water Task Force strives to collect and provide unbiased natural resource information to the community, supporting responsible growth and respect for the natural surroundings that make our home so treasured. Our mission is to protect and preserve the health of the Gallatin River Watershed.

Please visit our "Who We Are" and "What We Do" pages for more details about who's involved in this effort and what we're up to. Visit the "Current Events" to catch the latest news and see what's next on the agenda. Our "Library" has lots of great resources to help you learn more about this and other watersheds. The maps and photos in our "Gallery" will give you a glimpse into where we work and what we do. And you'll find lots of ways you can help out the organization on our "Support the BWTF" page.
