Draft State Water Plan: The Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) has released the 2015 draft State Water Plan for public review and comment. The recommendations in the State Water Plan reflects the collective work of water users from across Montana. There are a couple of ways that you can submit your comments:
1. Attend one of the following Upper Missouri Basin public meetings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm:
• September 30th – Great Falls, La Quinta Inn
• October 1st – Bozeman, Holiday Inn
• October 2nd – Dillon, UM Western, Lewis & Clark Room
2. Visit the DNRC website to view or download the draft plan
Public comments will be accepted between September 24th, 2014 and October 26th, 2014.
Tuesday September 2nd: BWTF Board of Directors meeting at the Big Sky Water and Sewer District.
Sunday, September 14th: Upper Gallatin River Cleanup. Meet at the Big Sky Community Park Pavilion and be prepared to work on the ground or in the stream. Free lunch barbecue and beer to follow!
Monday, September 29th: Willow Planting Workshop. Instructor Cindy Hoschouer, Wetland and Vegetation specialist at TREC INC., will educate attendees on: 1) identification of local willow species, 2) conditions in which each of these local species thrive, 3) collection and preparation of willow cuttings, 4) methods of installing the cuttings, and 5) post-project monitoring to assure success. The BWTF will be planting willows for numerous upcoming stream projects and would love to have trained volunteers to help with these projects! Meet at the Big Sky Golf Course parking lot at 9 am dressed to be outside for a few hours. For more information, contact Kristin at 993-2519 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Monday, November 15th: Missouri Headwaters Partnership Annual Potluck. More details coming soon!
