Additional days TBD

Where: Meet outside the Big Sky Post office

Why: Help the Gallatin River Task Force assess the sediment load of the Upper Gallatin as part of our long term monitoring program.

What You'll Need: water, sunscreen, lunch/snacks, waders, and a great attitude.

What: Stream Insect Sampling on the Big Sky Golf Course

When: Thursday, August 20th, 9 AM to 12 PM

Where: Meet at the Bunker Lot

Why: The Task Force and partners have planned a restoration project to improve trout habitat in the West Fork Watershed. Help us to collect stream insects, a powerful indicator species, to determine baseline water quality before the project begins.

Bring: water, snacks, water shoes or waders, and a good attitude.

What: Upper Gallatin River Cleanup

When: Monday, August 31st, 2 PM

Where: Meet at the Big Sky Community Park

Why: The Gallatin River is a high traffic, highway-side river. With 114 access sites, the river is in danger of being loved to death. Help us give back by cleaning up the river.

Free beer and barbecue at 6 PM in the Community Park

Be prepared to walk along the stream banks and wade in the river!
