Test Sites

The Task Force collects quarterly water quality data at eleven stations. Volunteers measure temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen, and turbidity in the field at each site, and collect water samples at each site for laboratory analyses of nitrate, total and fecal coliform bacteria. In addition, aquatic insect and benthic algal biomass samples are collected annually.  Click on a test site below to see where the site is located and observe its current and archived data!

Click on a monitoring parameter listed below to find out why we monitor each of these parameters in the Upper Gallatin River.  Below the parameters, open a current graph that better illustrates the story of the data dating back to 2000.

Temperature pH Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Nitrate Coliform Turbidity Conductivity  Aquatic insects** Benthic algal biomass**
